Food and Drug Challenge

We may perform food or drug challenges in our office. We skin test to penicillin, and when negative will challenge with the drug over several hours. We may in select situations do a drug challenge to other drugs when it isn’t clear what caused an allergic reaction.

We may perform food challenges when it isn’t clear if a food caused a problem or if over time a skin or RAST test suggests the allergy has gone away.
