Skin Testing

Skin testing is a procedure done in our office where a small amount of what you might be allergic to is lightly scratched or injected under the skin to determine if one is allergic to it. Skin testing is more accurate than RAST testing. It needs to be interpreted by the Allergist to determine its significance. Antihistamines need to be held beforehand as they can prevent the skin from reacting.
