Patch Testing

Patch testing is used to look for causes of allergic contact dermatitis. Some patients have rashes which are allergic reactions from contact to various compounds. The most common allergy is nickel found in some jewelry and other metals. Papers with potential allergens are applied to the back and left in place for two days with readings at 48 and 96 hours. We use the TRUE patch test kit.
